DuckDuckGo Traffic is Exploding

I generally want the full integration (contacts to mail, mail to cal, cal to maps, maps to suggested ads, etc) on some specific system or other because it’s convenient and makes my day to day life enjoyable. When the tech overlords come out with the Minority Report/Bladerunner implant someday, I just want it to be classy and fairly unobtrusive, that’s all.

“Swing by for a coffee before work? [Yes] [No]”
“No.”
The end.

But then I’m admittedly bothered by certain current trends, such as what’s basically a rerouting of some local restaurants’ Google My Business Pages by third party food ordering apps like BeyondMenu. Every attempt to click on the site takes you out to the app company’s mobile site. There is no way to seemingly bypass it to order food from the normal restaurant site.

I don’t really mind if Google is using data to recommend something to me on the sidelines, but can see how that can be exploited by third parties to shove ads and such in my face. I don’t necessarily fear Google, I fear the shitty human beings who ruin technology integration.
