What OP forgot to mention is that I've know the girl for almost 2 years. She made a comment on a post I made regarding a health issue (she's a nurse) . She then went above and beyond answering all of my questions in the dms regarding that. We ended up talking and found out that we have a lot in common, and became friends, eventually adding each other on Instagram, discord etc. She lives over 10,000 miles away from me, and I have no interest in forming anything other than a friendship.

Over the next two years, she was an amazing friend to me, even when I barely initiated the conversation. She has helped me so much and never asked for anything in return. The girl grew up extremely poor, in an abusive home. She never have a birthday party until she turned 20. She really struggled in life to be where she is now. During the pandemic, she was working non-stop and even that, she still talked to me and asked how I was doing.

When her birthday was coming up, I wanted to do something special for her, and decided to buy her a switch cause she always wanted one. So, I bought it for her and I couldn't be happier.

This girl is the most kind, caring, gentle soul ever. She deserves that, and even more. I from the bottom of my heart, wish her all the best, and pray whatever man comes into her life, will treat her right and love her as she deserves.

OP, you need to leave reddit for a bit, and go out into the real world. You will learn about platonic friendships, and if you're a decent person you might even make one.
