You're looking at something in the ballpark $100 for an inexperienced freelancer, up to $1,000+ for a professional freelancer. Of course, if you're paying for that high end you're probably talking an industry where your logo is important (i.e. a CPG brand or something were a lot of people will see it, and where visual identity is important).

It also depends on where you're hiring from. I've been working with a South American designer recently because I could get premium quality for about 20% the price of an American. That said, I would only recommend hiring internationally through a warm intro...if you just hire someone off the Internet, you can't count on any degree of quality.
