A colleague was hitting on me continuously and aggressively despite my clear lack of interest, and when I kept not responding she started spreading rumors that I was gay, as revenge (she didn't actually think I was gay). I talked about it with my now ex-girlfriend, who is generally a very sane and measured person but also a very active feminist, and her reaction was *"that's not nice but it's also kind of impressive how she's playing it like a man"*. Not quite *"you go girl"* but almost.

In general most feminists (including my ex) are decent measured people fighting to right wrongs that need to be righted. But in an era of filter bubbles it's very, very easy for people to develop double standards.
