[Duncan Castles Podcast] Man Utd agree a €100M deal in principle for Paulo Dybala

Fred was poached from City (he’s been pretty crap this season but I’m happy for him to have another season to show what he can do).

Matic, while not exactly new was definitely a big name player. He’d won league titles with Chelsea as a key player.

Mkhi had just finished as player of the season in the Bundesliga (dear God, I really wanted him to work).

Pogba (big name)

Zlatan (big name)

Falcao (big name)

Schweinsteiger (big name)

Lukaku (big name in prem, and deservedly so to be fair)

I’m not saying every big name transfer was the wrong choice or didn’t work out. Some have. But we do make shit a lot harder for ourselves by going for players as individuals rather than focusing how they’d function as a unit.
