Finally someone that actually presents a good argument for their point here. One of the simplest flaws about making Abby a likeable character is that WLF will shoot tresspassers on site while Joel will save them, only to get tortured and brutally murdered by them. I agree with the depiction of violence you said as well. Although Joel was fully prepared to kill those surgeons in tlou 1 he had no premeditated plan to do so. In this game Joel was singled out, lower leg blow off, purposely kept alive, discombobulate, beaten over and over with golf club, and then Abby decides to stop and expose his brain in front of Ellie. After that, characters are just check boxes, thier deaths are quick and only serve the purpose of the narrative. Ellie literally had a mental breakdown and vomited when she killed a pregnant woman (trying to kill her) but when tommy dies, his face is to the ground and we see Abby shoot the side of his head. Ellie is like ‘dang it’ and then back into kill mode.
