Is Duolingo good for learning European Portuguese?

Practice Portuguese or Portuguese Lab Academy for full learning, Drops (for vocab), Memrise (less expensive than the first two and gives a good base but you’ll eventually need to move onto something more robust).

Once you get a decent base, Storyglot (an offshoot of Portuguese Lab) currently has 4 books (eng/Portuguese written for learners) on sale on Amazon (at least in the US) that come with audio and are quite helpful IMO. Music is also highly underrated but you have to be careful finding music in European Portuguese. Also available on Amazon (in the US) are two grammar books by publisher LIDEL called Gramatica Ativa (1 & 2). Finally there are a few options for shows the RTP app has free access to Pôr do Sol (funny) and O Sábio (soap). Netflix has Glória (which I guess is graphic at parts) and I believe Pokémon has European dub and/or CC.
