I don’t know why you’re dissing the person who helped you avoid 5-7 years. From what you’ve described, I dont see how you would have had a defense. You assaulted someone and caused serious bodily injury. I know the injury probably wasnt what you intended, but in most states you dont have to intend the serious injury, just the assault. The fact that he’s a pedophile might make it morally justifiable but not legally justifiable (and I doubt you would have been able to prove that he was a pedophile in court anyway).

I know thats not what youre asking about, but I used to do criminal defense and I think a lot of people who go through the system think that they got hit particularly hard when, in reality, the system hits everybody hard. It likely wouldnt have been any better for you if you had an expensive attorney, and Ive seen a lot of expensive attorneys bungle things way worse than the PD would have.

As for your actual question, I dont know of a cult, but you would be best off just keeping your head down until you can get the guardianship lifted. Go to a mental health professional regularly, say the things you know they want you to say, etc. Amass enough evidence that youre doing well and then get back in court and get the guardianship lifted. Moving forward, don’t assault people, even if they deserve it (especially not older people who are likely to break a hip when they fall).

Alternatively, if youre wanting to just run away, you dont really need a cult. If you make it out of the state, theres realistically very little chance of anyone taking you back to your guardian. States dont really share records about that sort of thing. Im not really recommending it since I think it would be a bad idea to just run off to another state without any financial safety net or network of friends, but you dont really need to “hide out” since your guardian is realistically the only one who would be looking for you.
