Dylann Roof almost didn't go through with church massacre because "everyone was so nice to me"

At 21, this is not a misguided kid, this was an adult.

Yes, it was stupid for his parents to give him a gun, but accountability for the act lies on him.

Racists largely are angry and frustrated with their lives, that doesn't mean or excuse racism, but it can be a contributing cause or factor in one's decision to become racist. In the South, racism was a systemic way for poor lower class whites to still be "better" than someone. One always would have another race to blame when things went wrong.

It is unfair to conflate his researching and obsession with white supremacy with young men liking video games or sports. Video games and sports can be fun, interesting outlets for someone's obsessive nature.

Systemic prejudice is a 21 year old adult taking a gun into a church and murdering 9 people and we search for reasons for why he "went bad" or couldn't deal with his emotions because he had trouble "coping".

We need to completely ignore and forget the people who carry out these mass killings. We do not need to give them a voice or understanding. These are not emotional problems.

People that have emotional problems and trouble coping with life surf Reddit while eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's and commenting on threads like these.

This person was a murderer who, with intent, wanted to start a race war by killing peaceful worshippers and specifically targeting them because they were black. This was hatred, terrorism, and racism and it's frightening because such a person looks like the average Reddit demographic and racism takes the acts of one person who fits a demographics and applies it to that entire demographic as a reason to discriminate and hate that demographic.
