But Dreamcast is not a good comparison at all as that console died in a couple of years. There is no console death comparison because it's never happened to a company who's been around for over a decade in the console market.

By your logic Microsoft should have died a horrible death at this point as Sony had the VR Headset released, richer exclusives (Microsoft cancelled one of their biggest exclusives, Scalebound and have yet to release Crackdown 3) and up until the Scorpios announcement, Sony had the better hardware with the Pro. But nothing happened to Xbox and yet Sony had all the "excitment cards" and we also don't even know if Microsoft have a VR headset of their own in the works, so until otherwise, Sony is in the lead purely by its innovative technology with PSVR.

You focus on Sony with such intensity and use words like "death" and "destroyed" to convey its future, and then compare it to Dreamcast clearly shows your personal distaste for the console in general.

I don't think anything will happen to either console, and both will and should live in a healthy eco system, as Nintendo has done so, but you seem bitter towards that coexistence and would rather see Sony die for whatever reason that may be.
