EA does not care about your opinion. They only care about your money. The only way to make a difference is by not buying the game.

EA will not care that you did not buy microtransactions, as long as you bought the game.

That's a gross understatement.

Take the company Take Two for example. Over 40% of their income is from microtransactions across all their games, which include things like GTA Online and the 2K Sports games. So no, EA's more concerned that i'm buying microtransactions. They know that it's a way to hook in the impatient people who want to speed up their progression in-game, so they offer a quick boost for the low, low price of $4.99 USD.

It's tempting to a lot of people, and if you buy microtransactions once you're likely to buy them again. Microtransactions are one way for a game to keep making revenue long after launch sales start to drop.

So, no. I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with what you said. Me buying the game is not as big of an impact in the long-run on their profits as me not buying any digital premium currency for use in their game.
