EA pretty much confirms that they are coming back to Steam

True, but as long as Steam makes up in volume for its bigger cut, who cares? Store A sells your product for $100, store B sells your product for $70. As long as store B sells 30% more copies than store A would have, you come out ahead. Between the massive user numbers and strong community tools to maintain the interest in the game even after launch, it really doesn't matter.

And as an aside, if Steam sales start taking sales away from Origin, that means something. It means Origin sucks ass, which it absolutely does. And if they want more people buying from Origin, they have to get their shit together instead of trying to force peoples' hand with lame artificial exclusivity. Which, apparently, failed anyway since they came crawling back.
