Earth, Part 6 (End)

Unlike some, I appreciate the FREE and well written entertainment. I was hooked from the first paragraph. I subscribed.

You should however think about making this not a short story, but a full-length book, using this as a rough draft of sorts. Its a solid premise in my opinion with the reset idea. There are many ways this can ultimately play out to lengthen the mystery and story itself.

Perhaps rather than taking place in the present or future (maybe I missed mention of the time-frame), this particular story took place long long ago, before what we now know as society today.

Just one lone chapter in the numerous times the Earth has been reset. Due to the planet's chemical make-up, humans always eventually return as the dominant and technological species that it is, seeing their rise and ultimate demise before starting all over again in an endless cycle. With each passing cycle, however, we become more intelligent and come closer to finding the truth, but often still somehow find a way to destroy ourselves in the end... until we finally don't that is, and we reach that next level of consciousness to the point when we can acquire the answers we as human's time after time have always sought since before the first reset of Earth.

Perhaps the pyramids are unfathomably older, predating the very first reset. Possibly placed here by a far older and advanced alien civilization (often popular), or even by Earth's "first generation" (so to speak) of humans, technically making us the "aliens" to ourselves. The pyramids were placed in order for future generations to decipher and unlock the secrets of the universe, allowing us to join our previously successful brothers and sisters in linked human colonies spread throughout the cosmos.

The Earth must always be reset in the same time-frame however and either that generation makes the right choices and advances, or it simply crumbles and dies off making way for the next generation's attempt. Earth is but a breeding ground and a test site for the best and most peaceful generations of humans to make it off the planet and join the "galactic neighborhood" if you will. Who knows, maybe this is also the same protocol for other types of intelligent species on other worlds throughout the universe to advance, joining a very large mixed bag of peaceful species...

You're story was so good that it inspired new ideas. Hopefully I'm not subconsciously ripping off existing works. I can't be sure with so many stories and movies out there. I'm aware that I potentially could have just spent the last half hour on a fail.
