I would recommend going over to here and checking out some people's first time experiences. There are other reports on there, but the first time experiences might have a bit more detail on the taste and smell.

From my own experience, it's nasty. Taste is honestly fairly bland but the texture makes the experience sort of like eating dirt-covered sticks or something to me. Very dry, and almost has a very fibery-like feeling to it. Most people eat the dried shrooms, not wet/fresh.

If you really want some detailed accounts and no one has responded adequately or you can't find it in any of the stories on the link I posted, PM me and I'm willing to go into detail tomorrow. Keep in mind that a lot of people will make tea from the shrooms, or do what's called a "lemon-tek". Look into those, because they may be easier for you to explain in writing, especially if you haven't taken them yourself.
