This reminds me of a funny incident in our society when a maid was caught stealing things in a house she was supposedly hired to clean.

There was a huge commotion and a big drama show as she was made to squat on the doorstep and cry while the family threatened that they'd call the cops.

Then the maid's mother-in-law shows up sometime later to plead with the family to not call the police and she would teach her DIL a lesson when she got home (insinuating she would beat her up). Ironically the MIL herself worked as a maid and also had a reputation for being a thief although it was never proven as she was never caught red-handed.

What was funny was the next day the MIL comes to same household asking for work and basically said "I know you don't trust me or my DIL but I have another daughter who would be perfect for your household"

And house members were like "Are you fucking kidding me, we don't trust you entire family" And it ended in a screaming match with the family accusing her of being a thief and the MIL shouting that the family has no manners and is disrespecting a lady the age of their grandmother.

In this particular case, EC is "Hey I know we fucked up, but we suspended almost 5 people for this mistake. Dont worry repolling will happen in that booth and this time you can trust us 200 PERCENT!"
