Ed Donatell for DC?

I am all aboard the Ed Donatell train. The defense keeps its identity and its playbook.

Another guy I'd like to see us consider is Jim Leavitt, the DC for Michigan. He was the LB coach in SF under Fangio. But before that he was the first HC for the University of South Florida. In just a couple of years he had that team ranked #3 in the country with a beastly defense. He also is credited for turning around Kansas State's defense before that in a "worst to first" type way.

He knows Fangio's defense, but he also has been an executive level coach himself (HC/Coordinator). Also, somewhat of a badass. Michigan's offense this year under Harbaugh is 91st in the country, but the defense under Leavitt is 13. He groomed Navarro Bowman... I bet he could make Kwiatkowski go next level if given the opportunity.
