The reason for this is because corporations have no ability to actually pay tax. When you tax a corporation you are actually taxing the employees in the form of lower wages, the customers in the form of higher prices, and the owners in the form of lower profits. There are a lot of variables about which group bares the lions share of the tax but the owners do their best to put it on the other groups if they can.

If you want to address tax issues your best bet is at the capital gains level but that has its trade-offs as well. Using corporate taxes is a great political distraction to get people on your side though so it will become news stories even though everyone knows nothing will change.
