As someone from outside of the US, it's been surreal watching all of the US gun killings not result in any change in gun laws or even a collective "ok, enough is enough" solidarity.

Instead, it's become even more divisive and all sides have entrenched even further into insane partisanship. The Republican response has been especially bizarre, I have to say.

I thought Sandy Hook would have crystallized a broadly based move to at least try to deal with the obvious problems with how America applies your 2nd Amendment since everyone should question their assumptions when children are being slaughtered, but nope.

Like I said, it's surreal to me. And incomprehensible.

Canada mirrors the US in many ways, but in this issue, not at all.
