The education systems in most western countries have issues - what changes will have to happen?

The education system needs to reflect the needs of our society, especially post pandemic.

We have kids that need emotional skill training, socialization, self regulation first, and a healthy attachment to an caregiver. We push the wrong things, and it’s reflecting back at us & our society.

We push academics, grades, college. We prepare kids for “the real world”. Half of our kids know & have experienced more of the real world than the adults teaching those skills. Those kids don’t make it to college. The others that make it to college still struggle, and not only academically.

If that’s not your track & you’re in public schools, oh well. Suck it up, buttercup. We all remember “please excuse my dear aunt sally” but lack basic human skills. Take a look who the system is created for. Let’s look at who the psychology field is aimed at & serves. If society is evolving, education should keep up.
