They aren’t doing it out of hate or racism.. some but not all.. it’s a school of thought about tearing down the system.. they literally don’t want South Africa to exist and want to replace it. They don’t consider themselves South Africans in the way the the old mainstream did. They don’t want the economy and they don’t want the cities nor culture. From their perspective and learning, they were displaced and anything that isn’t adopted on their terms should be destroyed and rebuilt. It doesn’t matter if the result is lessened or inferior to what existed or even if it kills them, because it was on their terms. Those that aren’t them are to feel glad to be allowed the privilege on staying but on their terms. Their model is very ethnocentric and marxist. They don’t dislike you or are prejudice to you for your race (any race really) but rather you aren’t them and because they don’t want to adopt you. I’m not defending them or anything but this is a important distinction to make. It’s difficult to outsiders to understand the mindset or judge just how far people are willing to go. When you heard talk about a low key civil war then that’s exactly what’s going on, but right now they aren’t popular enough to take control so what they are trying to do is stroke the fire.
