EG CEO on twitter “we are not complacent with these results and are committed to making changes to improve!”

The problem isn't developing talent in NA CS, the problem is egos, gatekeeping and politics. There's plenty of talented players, they just never get together at the right time or they constantly have some selfish rivalry with eachother over what amounts to nothing. It's kind of like the Danish scene right now, there's two good teams, but they could take the best pieces from both and honestly have a worldbeater Top 3 team in the world if they put their petty little games aside. But nah, better to continue fighting behind the scenes rather than working together to get better.

Back to NA, time and time again, players are on teams because they're buddies with a star player or the other players want to play with them. They're not always there because of merit or because they're better than others in the region or because they can actually change the style of play for the team etc. The other thing is, they don't want to work together and form the best team from the five best pieces, because if things go wrong, someone has to be kicked eventually. So let's say you're the 4th best player on the team or the worst player, you're likely on the chopping block to be cut from the roster. So instead they think it's better to have two teams with a good three man core of stars instead and they can have a cushy job for a long time because those three guys are the stars, so you can't kick them from the team so they kick out one guy or two guys and rinse repeat because it's easier to maintain a three man core that's average and stay in your nice big paying contract than to have competitive drive and win games by sacrificing your security on the team.

In the end, NA CS will continue to fail so long as the players continue to sign big contracts for long time periods and the playing squad gatekeeps legitimate players who are actually good and could develop to be legends. It's no wonder anyone with any talent in NA moved onto Valorant because they're either banned from CS:GO majors, washed up in CS so they moved to Valorant, can't get into a team because of gatekeeping/rivalry BS, scared to leave their secure contracts and seat on an established team or they're the best player on like a Tier 3 NA team and never given a shot to play with guys as good as them. It's a region with lots of money, a lot of talent and plenty of opportunities to make it pro, but they all squander it on some pursuit of "We're the best NA team" or "I don't like X,Y and Z they're so trash" or "I don't want to play with A, B, C guy" or "I'm the star and we can't play with this guy!" and so nothing ever changes. So watch as they continue to rotate the same three or four guys they always do in and out of teams and they never form a NA superteam that could be good if they put their egos aside.

The same thing is wrong with the AU CS scene. I know because a couple of times, I know really talented players who were good fits kept out of teams because the team wanted to play with some old friend of the players who was a worse rated player but also not a good fit inside the server, the only difference is AU CS has barely any money and most of the teams suck due to isolation from EU CS and the meta being different.

I dunno what this chick fresh out of college doing investment is going to do with EG, I'll be honest and no disrespect but what the hell would she know about CS:GO and building a team? Look at all the EG teams they've ever made in CS:GO, not one has been amazing and the current one isn't even in the Top 30. But look they could buy some big name player and imo it wouldn't work. Same reason why a certain CS:GO legend couldn't stay in NA aside from being homesick, the team or other players in the region will isolate you if you're a foreigner and you have to play some lame political game of rosters just to get anywhere if you're a local or a foreigner in that region. No one wants to play in NA from Europe either really, I think Shox did it just to take the big pay day and peace out and later retire. Plus seeing how a very talented player like Twistzz left the NA scene to play in Europe where they're serious about Counter-Strike, I'd say he made the right choice of leaving behind the cesspool that is NA CS, he's winning titles now and seems happy to just be doing what he loves whether he's winning or not.
