Elderly couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide, left notes about high medical bills

I chose not to have it last year, just took the tax hit. Got "lucky" I guess I had nothing major happen, just a random change of season sickness that lingered. But my Dr knows my insurance situation being self employed, and we communicate on the online chat I can use for my physician, so I never had to go in. He prescribe some of the basic shit, said if that doesn't get rid of it come in. But at least didn't have to pay office visits shit.

I've basically been through the Marketplace since being self employeed, had OK coverage the first year with Anthem (my preferred & accepted all my Drs, meds, etc).

2nd year price went up to $400/month [$2,500 deduct], but still covered my physical, meds, etc.

3rd year (last year) Anthem and others had all bailed, only option was some junk ass carrier that covered no Dr I use (and was not switching), none of the meds. $525/month was the cheapest plan and that deductible was $9,500...the next "cheapest" was nearly $600 with a $8,500 deduct. So I said fuck it, put off my physical and said I'll just take tax fee.
