ELI5: Why is it fairly common to dislike certain subcultures (hipsters, furries, emos) so easily?

ok, the conformity explanation is a solid one, but i think it doesnt capture the whole story. Remember when there were "rappers", and "metalheads"? People may have been annoyed at them, but they had a bit of fear of them too, because they were tough and they would beat you up.

The modern subcultures that OP mentioned are all about whining, being a transgender pussy, and being so spineless that you get conformed by the mainstream corporations. Emos were whiny bitches with stupid hear. They kinda looked like the punk skaters, so it would appear that they had talent and werent about being gay like justin bieber. Furries....... well, you know how shitty it feels to punch a retarded kid, so imma leave them alone... And hipsters, the greatest scum of all. Started with anti establishment and non conformism, and it just got twisted by special little snowflakes into the biggest fad we ever saw. The problem with hipsterism is that people dont grow out of it after high school like emos. You see people in their 30s wearing the hipster uniform, the shitty black rimmed glasses, having a beard, the lumberjack shirt, the stupid pants, some special shoes and being a vegan or some annoying shit. It is so widely accepted, they make the "dad" in commercials into a hipster, they made the kinder choco bon egg mascot into a hipster. The anti conformism culture grew into the most conformist fad ever. And the "real" hipsters, typing on a machine in the cafe with their sandals and socks with stocking holders, are just trying to out-special snowflake the rest of them. Transgenderism is the newest fad because it can make you a special snowflake just by getting offended, you dont even need a "uniform".

In short: old fads was about being a tough guy, new fads are about being the biggest pussy
