ELI5: How did the Juno satellite accelerate to 130,000 MPH?

Scientists and engineers are the antithesis to politicians and bureaucrats. The very nature of what they do and what goals they seek to achieve are proof of that.

As a scientists or engineer, it's all about "the big picture". They strive to accomplish things far bigger than themselves, for the benefit of all.

As a politician or bureaucrat, it's all about "the small picture". They strive to achieve their own immediate political goals, with some of the more clever ones planning for even greater heights in power further down the line. But the idea of working towards a long-term goal for the benefit of all? Their very nature rebels against such a thought.

Obviously, there are exceptions in both categories. Bernie Sanders was proof of that. But let's be honest, even if he did get elected as president congress would do everything in its power to thwart him. He's not one of them. He doesn't think like one of them.

What I'm saying is...don't expect any politician to make the world a better place. They not only won't, they can't.

Turn to your scientists and engineers to fix this mess and make the world a better place. They're our best bet to have a better future, and any politician that seeks to stymie scientific progress needs to be driven out of the way asap.
