In my experience, many people who rush to the “because I said so” usually do so for one of two primary reasons. One: They don’t know why and will not admit it. Two: They lack the ability to explain it well enough to be understood, and that too is usually to them just barely understanding “why” themselves.

Good managers, teachers, and supervisors will give you the “why” or even admit they don’t know why and use the opportunity for you both to learn the why.
