ELI5: We’ve teleported particles a few years ago, how does that work?

Hey, I had a question about Arnold Schwarzenegger, er I mean Anton Zeilinger's photon particle experiments and how they actually enabled "teleportation", but my post was denied because it was deemed too common of a question or something, and after a quick search I found this post and thought maybe you would take some time to respond and if so thank you in advance.

Zeilinger says he is able to teleport photon particles from one island to another one 90 miles away, by entangling the particle (let's say Particle A) with a default particle that has already been previously entangled with another particle on the far island sent there via laser. This is accomplished by them being able to modify and change the "sister particle" for lack of better term on the far island into a copy of Particle A.

Maybe I'm missing something gigantic or am dense but my immediate question is, how does this constitute teleportation if Particle A is still assumingly present on the close island, even though they have been able to turn the far sister particle into something exactly like Particle A?
