ELI5 what does “ratio” mean?

Scientifically, the measurment of parts compared to one another, primarily used for liquids (ie. One cup of water to 1/2 cup of vinegar = 1 to .5)

People also use it as a social equivalent of one upping others or proving status over an opinion expressed online. If someone posts something, and a comment states either a counterargument with or simply a "ratio", the person leaving the comment sets themselves up to prove they are either right or wrong based on how many other people support the comment.

Ex. If a comment stating "ratio" gets more likes than the original comment, the ratio of likes between the two are in the commentor's favor and they essentially "win". The opposite can be true if the original post stays strong over the comment, in which case the commentor will have "lost" the ratio battle.
