Elmo thinks the Secret Service was the lynchpin behind this attempted coup because this is some shady shit.

That Intercept story contains a lot of ambiguous language (suggests, unclear, etc) that leaves room for too much speculation, fails actual citation by quoting agencies rather than actual officials of those agencies, and mischaracterizes the testimony of Pence staff about the nature of events that day in an attempt to sensationalize the facts to increase engagement. The Intercept claiming that the information was deleted after request is wholly speculative and they present no proof to the contrary, stating only that DHS was informed of the deletions after the request was submitted. The Intercept's co-founder resigned 2 years ago, objecting to how coverage was being managed and has been criticized by other left-leaning outlets for hyperbole and misrepresenting facts in a way that could be damaging to truth for the sake of increasing engagement.

I say watchdog group because that's what the majority of drive by, bumper sticker tweets from multiple talking heads and soon doctor keep claiming. Not to mention that there have been attempts by groups not associated with governmental agencies or investigative committees to access the text and call records of Secret Service agents that were active during the events of 1/6. To date, there is no information about any committee investigations into Secret Service agents records or requests for testimony from agents or for text and call records/data from any agent of the service. It would be protocol for DHS, as the agency overseeing Secret Service, to request records and it would equally be protocol for agents of Secret Service to delete that information for reasons I've already covered in earlier comments concerning mobile device protections for government officials using agency issued devices.

Do try to keep up, hm?
