Elon Musk pledges to ' authenticate all humans ' as he buys twitter for $ 44 billion .

Honestly, given recent events, twitter at 44 billion is an absolute steal. You have virtually direct control of something that is utterly human and, until now, impossible to reliably alter: sentiment.

Twitter is a sentiment machine. It invites users to express themselves, but only rewards them if the things they say agree with an algorithm that twitter controls. That means the people that say the most algorithm positive things get the most exposure, engagement, and all of human sentiment shifts ever so slightly. Over time, it's incredibly powerful, and entirely unique.

We are new to social media, and the power it wields is unknown. Personally, I think it is too much. In the wrong hands, twitter is worth 10 times what Musk paid.
