They’ll never be able to compete 1v1 with any major manufacturer, not now and not in the future.

You know whether you like Tesla or not this is a really bad outcome because the existing car industry is practically a racket which makes it pretty much impossible for any company to get into and compete with because most of the industry runs of a loss leader scheme and makes most of it's money on it's fleet and servicing.

An upstart company just cannot produce cars that are price competitive and that's why Tesla is the only car maker in like 50+ years to achieve the scale they have and they've had a lot of luck and had to cut a few corners to achieve it.

Competition is good for customers. We want more car makers not less.
