Emotional moment between an Officer and Protestor

At this point, what the public really wants to see is the police as a unit publically owning up to their shit.

People want apologies and them to show a genuine awareness of what they did as being wrong.

Yeah, there are people who believe that there are only jerk cops out there. While that sucks, the real problem is that the police has historically bad oversight.

It's not an equal playing field. The police have the authority to kill someone if they personally feel under attack. This means that the force is under public scrutiny at all times.

Sadly, the good cops have to pay the price sometimes when it comes to the bad ones. A good cop doesn't sign up for the job for the reputation perks. It's the classic case of one screw up causing the others to do push-ups along with them, except it's a million times worse.

So yeah, while there are good cops out there, the bigger deal is that the police overall just has terrible oversight.

That's what the people are rioting against.

If it was an equal playing field, this shit wouldn't be happening.
