What's up former fat kid here. Went from 215-170 (5'9) from pre senior year of high school summer to senior year. Currently in my senior year of college.
There are hard fucking days and days with emotional downfalls that have nothing to do with with losing the weight. The latter is the hardest. If something good or bad happens don't see it as a reason to cheat. Yes go out to dinner, but order the grilled chicken with asparagus instead of the steak and potatoes
Losing weight is emotional, but it works best when you take emotion out of it. For example, if your a week into your diet and you don't see results you have to keep your head up. A lot of stuff you eat causes frustration when you stop eating it making you moody, that's just a part of it.
This may not be what you want to hear, but if you give it time, don't diet but eat right (nothing that crumbles, no white bread, no soda/sweets, comfort foods and drink lots of water and tea) you will lose weight. That diet also works.
What people don't talk about is the emotional boost you get from it. When you choose your health over that piece of cake on shitty day where your life's going wrong it gives you something to smile about and makes every other hard day a little easier
