Employer not paying me for my first shift as barback (Ontario)

Oh I was thinking 2 percent of tips, but actually I think that may be way off. Anyway I talked to her today and she agreed to pay me for my first shift. She did get a little defensive and insisted that it is a thing that they do in the service industry and that she informed me that I wouldn't be getting paid when I agreed to come for the trial shift (which is not true). But yeah she has agreed to add the shift to my next paycheck. She also told me she would work on getting me my paystub for next paycheck and that the fault for that lies with the company that the owner pays to send us our paystubs??? (idfk). On the bad news it turns out that I'm actually only making 14$ an hour instead of the 16$ an hour that she mentioned in the interview. And on top of that I dont recieve any tips. So I'm glad that Im getting paid for that day but now im pissed off again about my pay and not getting tipped out, I was reading online that barbacks can make like 50 to 100$ a night just in tips??
