I encountered my first Karen last night

I mean one thing that stood out here is that you basically admitted that you and your friend were being in fact disruptive… I’m all for calling out karens but I’m not sure if this was an actual Karen situation.. I mean no matter where you go you should essentially be mindful of other people And your environment.

What were you two saying specifically? It’s very possible that you were making other people uncomfortable and quite frankly you don’t know if someone actually complained on you first because it seems like you weren’t even paying attention to notice that the other customer left… That customer could’ve actually said something to the staff which may have prompted this response…

I’ve gone in all different types of stores like this and I’ve never been in there cracking jokes or being loud or making people uncomfortable. That sounds childish to me. Adults who are mature don’t do that… I’m just being honest here not trying to be condescending.

It’s OK if you made a mistake but I don’t know if I agree that this is a Karen situation. You called corporate for what though? You said you both were being disruptive so what is there to call corporate about? You gave these people a reason to call you out quite frankly. If you were just standing there and shopping quietly and weren’t doing anything then you were approached and questioned about something then I could see how that would be a Karen situation.

I think that you just didn’t really act in your own best interest in this situation. Quite frankly, if I know I didn’t do something wrong there’s no way I’m apologizing.

It seems that you two made a mistake, you got called out publicly, you felt embarrassed and wanted to get back at this person when really they were just doing their job… Just take this as a learning experience quite frankly and just move forward.
