I was 31 and after MONTHS of talking and flirting with a 28 year old girl who worked in the same building, but a different company, I finally got her to go on a date with me. We went to dinner and she was really nervous all evening. 2 weeks later she agreed to go on a date again, pretty much the same general vibe. A week later another date, this time dinner at my house. I hugged her at one point and she stood there completely still and barely hugged back. After dinner I kissed her and she started crying.

She told me that these were the first dates she had ever been on and her first kiss ever. She had been home schooled through high school, stayed completely alone through college and lived alone since. She told me she was terrified every minute of every date, wondering if she was doing it right. She enjoyed the hug, her first that was not platonic, but the kiss was just too much, she was overwhelmed. We hugged and kissed a time or two that night but that's all.

I tried to go slow as we went on several more dates and we had a few make-out sessions during them. She never quite got comfortable with any of it, cried about it pretty often, and finally told me she didn't want to keep seeing me. Okay. I completely lost touch with her and never found out where she ended up.
