At the end of my rope

I totally get it. I would have to stay with my son for hours every night until he fell asleep. And then he’d wake every 45 mins to scream. He did that until he was 5. Now he will stay asleep, but getting him there is the hardest part. Tell your wife I totally get it, it’s the shittiest way to live, there’s a reason they use sleep deprivation as torture. Because it’s torture.

No doctor could help us. We just had to wait for him to grow out of it. I don’t want to say there’s no hope, but you really do just have to find a way to keep your sanity. When he was that young I would just sleep when he did. As he got older I could say “I’ll be back in 5 minutes, just wait here quietly for me” and sometimes he did just that. Last night he fell asleep while I hugged him and was on Reddit. It was peaceful, even though he’s 9 and should be independently sleeping by now. Everything else he does is perfect. He’s just a bad sleeper.
