End Police intimidation of activists • Melbourne Activist Legal Support

Police are private security for the LNP and their wealthy cronies. As a reward for their "service" they are allowed to unleash their psycopathy on whoever they perceive to be a threat to the status quo - or just for fun.

State police are often seconded to work on the ongoing mass surveillance data gathering carried out by the Signals Directorate/Prime Ministers Office and others. This surviellance is designed to protect polititians, and other wealthy and powerful individuals from scrutiny from journalists, green/left protesters, and other "troublemaker" potential whistleblower members of the public trying to make the world a better and fairer place for everyone.

This surveillance work has been designated as "priority one" and it comes as no suprise that there is an unlimited budget that goes with this rort.

Ordinary members of the public are supposed to believe this surveillance has been designed to protect them against terrorism and crime. You would have noticed that actually it doesn't. There has been the odd heavily publicised case that hasn't made a "big picture" difference.

To discourage "the plebs" from contacting "bothering" the police about matters that fall within the police stated purview, (robbery, harassment, domestic violence etc.) they will ignore the problem or turn up and treat victims with unflinching contempt. They will use a rude, snide, mocking, intimidating, dismissive tone in conversation with the victim.

Woe betide those who are aggrieved by this toxic culture of the police. Police will gaslight you and "the sytem" is not designed to protect you.

Apparently, the police "brotherhood" is so powerful it is a rare politician who would stick their neck out and risk political suicide for a lowly constituent.

It is common for people to experience issues such as false, inaccurate, out of context, obfuscated police reports and police have all sorts of strategies to stop/deter people from getting copies of these reports.

So if people are kept, or become, uncertain, fearful, powerless, poor, dehumanised, depressed, resigned and therefore vulnerable, the status quo thrives.
