So, I have a similar situation in my family where I moved out young and have always had issues with my parents, who avoided my siblings over me for a lot of reasons.

I can say from a position of experience, and some bias to be fair, that JJ’s parents are the ones that truly have a lot of the culpability in this.

It’s very clear that Deji is incredibly manipulative. He loves to play the victim and get his way, and it seems that has had a massive impact on the way his parents interact with him vs JJ. But their parents should know better.

I’m sorry but I think the way they have handled themselves throughout this is frankly, disgusting. I have been in JJ’s position and personally, I’ve been slowly phasing out contact with them for some time, so it’s incredibly commendable that he appears to be working so hard to fix this.

They need to grow the fuck up. They’ve bought into this ridiculous narrative about their own son and they should know better. They’ve sold JJ down the river completely and it’s upsetting to see.

Don’t pick sides. Clunk their fucking heads together, tell them they’re brothers and don’t actively encourage one to damage the other. They should rise above this and make peace, rather than stoking the flames, but they don’t seem capable of it.
