Ending a listing contract after two weeks to rent - obligation to my agent?

OP only had the listing live for two weeks, so the chances of it selling in this market aren’t the greatest. It’s not like the listing agent failed at her job or didn’t do her job. OP’s circumstances changed, which happens.

OP stated that they’ve been really happy with the agent through several transactions. As a sign of good faith and partnership, I don’t see anything wrong with paying the listing agent a partial commission.

Also, we don’t know where OP is located. Maybe they’re in the Midwest and the house is listed for $350k. A 0.5% payout grosses the listing agent $1,750. That pays for her photography, yard sign, print work, gas, and a small bonus.

That’s not greedy realtor talk. That’s being decent.
