Engineer Invents Shelters For The Homeless That Retain Heat During Winter

Those are all causes of homelessness. But as I understand it the main cause, at least in the US, is bad luck. Most homeless people are mentally fit, able to work, and hate being homeless. But once you fall out of the bottom of the economy it's very difficult to get back in. Without an address you can't get a job, a loan, pass a credit check, or get a bank account. It's hard to stay clean and neat looking which also makes it hard to find work or do anything. You have nowhere to store you stuff so you can't own anything. You can't buy or cook food. The list goes on but basically it means it's really hard to make money, and what money they make has to be spent very inefficiently to survive.
