Engineers have fucked everything up

I don't think the point is that it shouldn't take any time to get the best ships/engineer upgrades, etc. The point is the sheer amount of time it takes to build a decently competent ship for pvp would require you have no life. The goalposts for pvp entry are always moved back. I have to get the ship, A-rate it, and over-engineer it even before I can start building my skills to be competitive. And building skill is always interrupted by the continual need to grind for more rebuys and engineer mods. Being "good at pvp" more and more just means having a lot of free time and not much else, unless of course you're isinona and fly around in a D-rated Viper but still manage to evade multiple wings of SDC griefers, who then feel sooo awesome that they can kill him with their A-rated over-engineered Cutters.

The "top pvp" griefers have no life outside of E:D and so build their sense of worth in this world in their ability to blow up a trade cutter that's flown by some dad who probably only spends a few hours during his day off to play. They then get some misplaced sense of superiority and worth out of this, and bonus points if they can make it onto a livestream. Now that I write this, I'm realizing just how sad it is.
