Enjoyed it, but seems shallow

It took me awhile to really get into this game and I definitely agree there's a bit of a hump when you're first starting off... for me it probably went the opposite way:

I felt like I was struggling a lot on my first few playthroughs, it took me over half a dozen tries to beat the first mission, but it was simply a result that I got handed some shitty RNG on those runs, as is the case with Rogueish games like this. I kept up with it, got more accustomed to the gameplay (which I love as being a simplified version of small-squad-based tactics ala Xcom).

After leveling up my chars and unlocking some new ones I feel like I really got over that initial hump and I'm super addicted to the game now.

I feel like the game mechanics really do favor the player overall, so if you're playin' it super safe like Xcom (as I was at first) you gotta just shrug that shit off and rush in there with Shani and Brunhilde wailing away with them blades!!
