Enjoying the hot springs in Quebec

Hello "TheGermanWay",

So yes, thanks for sharing your opinion. It's been several days since I posted my original comment above, and had not checked back in. So I didn't see your response until now, and not sure if you will see my "counter-response".

But yes... perhaps, another I could put this in another way, as follows:

1)

First, in part, I do AGREE with you. I remain open minded to the idea that it is certainly possible that cold temperatures, might make your immune system somewhat less effective.

So I would NOT want to really argue with you on that point. I agree with you on that point!

2)

BUT...

Ultimately, in the end, in order to get an "infection" you need a virus, or bacteria (or "prion" if we are talking about mad-cow disease, which is an entirely different topic!), or a parasite, to enter your body. (We can also go ahead and lump in "poison" on this list, although most poisons are not living organisms.

So really that's it:

you have to be exposed to a virus, bacterium, prion, parasite, or poison.

IN CONCLUSION:

I'm pretty sure that you also probably agree with me, that cold weather, and cold temperatures, do NOT magically create viruses, bacteria, prions, or poisons.

I'm going out on a limb here, and assuming you probably agree.

And so, I would like you to imagine this scenario:

Imagine a group of 50 humans travelling to Mars, and they've got themselves the worse, nastiest flu virus.

During their first few months to Mars, all of them come down with this nasty flew, and are sneezing and blowing green-snot in zero-gee.

Pretty gross!

But finally, when they make it to Mars, about 7 to 9 months later, no one is experiencing flu symptoms any longer.

These adventurers and explorers, then proceed to spend at least 10 years on Mars, establishing the first human colony, building dooms, and farmers fields, and buildings, beneath that doom.

Guess what happens during those 10 years?

NOBODY ever gets sick (as in infection), not even when they are exposed to ULTRA-COLD martian temperatures.

Why not? Because AGAIN, cold temperatures, do NOT magically manufacture bacteria/viruses.

This situation actually occurs in real life, in Antarctica.

If NONE of the scientists/researchers show up in Antarctica summer, with a cold or flu, then NOBODY in Antarctica ends up with a cold or flu that winter. Despite -50 or even -70 temperatures!
