Enquiry about obtaining citizenship

Try to apply again right before you ORD. I applied for my citizenship 2 months before my ORD date and got it approved 2 months after my ORD. Total 4 months. Very recent, just last year.

I think it's possible that you got rejected since you are still in the middle of NS but like you say, no one actually knows the reason. And FYI, my whole family is PR and I'm the only one who applied for citizenship so I don't think it doesn't matter whether your parents have citizenship or not.

During the application, you really have to make sure that all the details are correct and there's no room for any error (very important). Also add in anything that would showcase yourself as a good applicant.

For example, I have a joint scholarship with MPA and I added in the supporting documents. In this way, I portray myself as an individual who will be working in Sg and contributing back to the society instead of gtfo after getting the passport.

One thing to note is that you can keep adding in any supporting documents even after you have submitted your citizenship application, until you get rejected.

When you are about to ORD, you will receive service transcript and testimonial. If not, I advice you to ask from your unit. I had a good transcript and testimonial so I submitted them after I ORD, 2 months after my initial application.

Since you mentioned that you have already gotten a placing in local uni and so, add in the supporting documents for your next application, if you haven't already done so for your previous one. Just for info, I am just a diploma holder and not going to uni and instead going directly into workforce.

Seeing other comments, your best bet is apply again either right before you ORD or after you ORD. If you still have a lot of time till your ORD and apply again now, I think there won't be any difference.

Anw, wish you the best with your next application!
