Is the Entire Economy Gentrifying?

Go to any major American city and one of the poorest places is always the traditional Asian district. They'll also have the most fresh and cheapest grocery stores in the city there. Because they aren't getting stolen from.

Go to the parts of town with higher crime demographics but the same or richer socioeconomic status, and only convenience stores selling ramen where you have to leave your backpack at the front door, and they have bullet proof glass windows around the clerk, exist..

I used to live in Seattle and the international district had tons of fresh food. Poor, but tons of small grocery stores. Go 3 miles to the central district around MLK blvd, and nothing but gas stations selling ramen and fried chicken.
