My personal favorite example is this author:
Writes self help lit like, " The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun. " & " Better Than Before: What I Learned About Making and Breaking Habits--to Sleep More, Quit Sugar, Procrastinate Less, and Generally Build a Happier Life "
Lives in an upper east side apartment that would easily run $5m+ bought for her & her husband by her father in law, Robert Rubin, the 70th Treasurer of the USA & former chairman of Citibank.
Her husband is the CEO of a $7b AUM fund & a former founding partner of JP morgan private equity. He's also a very well connected player in NYC politics (ex-commissioner of of NYS Homes and Community Renewal, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, New York Director of Hurricane Sandy Recovery and Rebuilding Task Force and Senior Advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of housing & urban development.
These are people with tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars & she spends her time schlocking self help literature for profit, vs say, spending some of her family's incredible wealth to either make a difference, or reform a country that allows family's like hers to amass such fortunes with minimal taxation & rampant nepotism.
