Ep. 67 | 2 Bears, 1 Cave w/ Tom Segura & Bert Kreischer

He recently was enraged, and realized how easy it is to be thrust in a state that is not who you normally are, and a state that is difficult to get out of.
When people are able to rein themselves in, this is the best reaction. However, even times when people cannot rein themselves in in time, this does not necessarily mean they deserve the hate they get from a one-sided video that gets passed around.
Maybe someone ran a red-light and nearly killed you. They are a maniac and chase your car down. Now your adrenaline is flowing because this person with obvious anger issues is following you. Not sure how much this is going to escalate, your body is filled with adrenaline as you come face to face. They scream at you. You KNOW you did nothing wrong, so you scream, "What the fuck is wrong with you?!! You're a total piece of shit, you could have killed me!!" You have no way of proving to the public exactly what happened, but the public image is already poisoned by their phone video of your seemingly road-rage reaction (despite it being the other person's road-rage that lead to this altercation).
Everyone would like to respond in a calm manner. But you are almost hit, chased around by the driver, yelled at, and then have a camera shoved in your face... Most people would not be able to present the best image of themselves in that situation (guilty or innocent). Mobs are not famous for diligently chasing down all the facts.
Everyone has seen those photos of the teens wearing Trump hats, with Native Americans banging drums. The photos seem like the teens were mocking the Native Americans. Everyone was outraged at the teens who seemed to have very punchable faces. The Sisters of Mercy, a Catholic group, also criticized the boys' behavior, saying the videos showed "a bigoted disrespect of indigenous peoples", and suggested that they should be expelled. The teen received death threats as a result of the incident.
But because this received so much national attention, and a lawsuit against the New York Times, the case was researched more than most. It came out that the situation was very different. A very aggressive group called the Black Israelites were shouting at most people in the area. They called the teens "racists" and "incest kids." The Native American group placed themselves between the two groups "in order to defuse the situation..."
Fortunately more camera footage was able to be found, and the full coverage showed a very different situation than the one originally reported on many major networks. Most incidents don't get this thorough of a follow-up, so the initial mob mentality remains on the person accused forever.
It is very easy for anyone to find themselves in a difficult situation that makes them look like a horrible person even if they are not.
(But we all know that Bruce fuqs dogs and smells bad, so this doesn't really apply in his case. - sorry Bruce)
