you're just proving my point. 10 years ago it was mbs, 20 years ago it was "dot com" stocks, 30 years ago it was emerging markets.... you could go on and on. And after every crash, you see the markets recover, and recover, and recover. It will not be the end of the world if bad financial products are sold(as they inevitably will be), and it isn't the first time it has happened.

But do not forget to give the financial markets credit. There are now ETF funds to combat the volatility risk of emerging markets. "Dot com" stocks today are blue chip companies like Amazon and Google. And yes, even "bespoke tranche opportunities" are more accountable and better too, even with that ridiculous new name.
