Epilogues - Dave is being "woke" ironically, right?

I stopped reading after the scratch. Throwing everything away felt cheap and the other 4 kids were brought in with zero fanfare. Pre-scratch felt important. Each kid had a custom Land, tuned towards their personalities and their unique roles in Sburb. The comic presented these slowly and in significant chunks, and the entire ultimate goal seemed to revolve entirely around these guys not fucking up too badly. They had sprites that were personally linked to each of them by being brought to life with significant figures (with the exception of Dave, pre-entry) from their lives, and they were all appropriately vague and mysterious with their hints. John straight up got a "you are the hero of this session and here is a mini-prophesy about your big important role" from Nanna right at the start of the session. Advancing in the game required tough choices and forced them to face grim realities, such as inducing god-tier via killing your own time-clone. They became stronger by killing enemies in the game and using the spoils to create new equipment, forcing them to think about their lives from a new angle - they were heroes now, and it was time to think about how best to survive this experience. For years, the entire focus of the webcomic was reaching the point of the timeline where this mysterious "scratch" occurred. Hell, even the Trolls emphasized this point - they were introduced by yelling at the kids for fucking everything up for initiating the Scratch - something THEY didn't even know what it was. We got a long side story of their OWN game of Sburb - Sgrub - and we watched as the game changed their lives and how it lead up to the point we saw them today; huddled in a meteor trying to hide from Jack. And that just served to emphasize the importance of Sburb and all its incarnations. Every single thing, from character development to the genocide of a species and the death of a planet, revolved around Sburb. I wanted nothing more than to explore how Sburb worked and find out what other sessions might have looked like. I devoured fan adventures.

And then they went "LOL FUCK IT" and restarted the entire damn thing, and suddenly we're rushed through 4 new asshole's shitty game that isn't even a standard game - nothing interesting happens, there's no significant character development, and everyone seems to go out of their way to act as a parody of their previous selves and every other single FUCKING thing anybody says is a dumb callback that nobody asked for. Even the new Trolls are just exaggerated parodies of the 12 we were introduced to - Kankri is a SJW. Rufioh is fucking RUFIO from that Peter Pan movie. Meulin is what the internet thinks Nepeta is. Latula is Dave if he were a troll - right down to her obsession with being cool like the "coolk1d". Twist after shitty unpredictable plot twist come out of nowhere, and me and my friends long since gave up even trying to guess what stupid bullshit Hussie would try to pretend was a deliberate reference from 4 years ago next

So no, I didn't leave after act 2. This webcomic was my life for years, and now it's like the entire thing has gone down the shitter. So I'm sorry that I don't like the new material. I'm sorry that I don't fucking agree that everything being shat out right now is god's gift to webcomics. I'm FUCKING sorry if I'm getting upset that the current version of this webcomic is nothing like the one I fell in love with back when I was younger.
