Episode's Last Biography

An eerie soundscape of whirs and blips and then the thunderous rhythmic power of the dual guitars. Tension and release hasn't sounded this urgent for ages. From the blistering live opener of the electronic tinged 'Versus the sky' through the shoe-gaze influenced post rock of 'The Natural Colour of Wires' to the beats filled aggression of 'Intermission' as the close of an Episode live show, every moment is filled with passion. Punk Rock ethic meets intelligent atmospherics begins to explain the nature of what Episode are all about.

The band has existed in various incarnations since 2004 with varying line up changes until today and the bands current incarnation as a five piece. 'We always had a vision of how we wanted the music to sound; pop melodies combined with a layered type of heaviness but it's only now that we're beginning to realise that sound' comments Chris who plays rhythm guitar and lead vocals in the band. Episode count their main influences as bands such as Radiohead, Nirvana, My Vitriol, Aereogramme and The Cure as well as electronic and Drum & Bass acts such as Squarepusher and Aphex Twin.

Currently the band is recording and rehearsing material for a new EP - set to be a split with friends Take Aim (Also synth player Edd Legg's other band). 'Since bringing in Edd we've really grown as a band - it's freed the rest of us up and increased our creativity as a unit.' muses Bassist Matt on the band's new found direction and sound. 'This is easily the material we love the most thus far'.

However even with the new found direction and the electonics littered all over the stage the band are still a rock band at heart. 'The guitars will always be around and we are a very live band' insists lead guitarist Luke 'Playing live is what it's all about and the electronics are there to enhance the music and give it more layers.'
